Gamblr is built to be uninstalled. The same principle applies to your data: we collect the least we can, keep it for the shortest time we can, and make it one tap to delete.
What we collect
- What you type into onboarding. First name, the gambling types you selected, your declared weekly spend, your "why I quit" note. Stored on your device.
- Your daily check-ins, urge logs and relapse logs. Stored on your device.
- An anonymous identifier (a random UUID) so we can count installs and run product analytics without knowing who you are.
- Subscription state (active / cancelled / refunded), from Apple's StoreKit. We do not see your card number or your Apple ID.
- Crash reports, if you opted in during the iOS system prompt.
What we do not collect
- No email address.
- No phone number.
- No last name, date of birth, or address.
- No location.
- No contacts, photos, or microphone access.
- No banking, card, or transaction data of any kind.
Where it lives
Your check-ins, urge logs, relapse logs, money-saved counter, clean-streak count, and "why I quit" note are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData. They are not synced to a server. They are not backed up to our infrastructure. If you offload or reinstall the app from the App Store without using iCloud, that data is gone.
What we share with third parties
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics (the anonymous UUID plus the events listed below). Hosted in the EU.
- Apple — subscription management via StoreKit. Apple's privacy policy applies to what Apple holds.
That is the entire list. We do not sell data. We do not run ad tracking. We do not have a marketing partner.
What we track in analytics
Anonymous product events, joined only by the random UUID. Examples: "onboarding step viewed," "SOS opened (Tier 1)," "urge logged," "subscription started," "subscription cancelled." We do not log the content of your check-ins, your urge notes, or your "why I quit" note.
The partner mirror
If you enable the optional partner mirror, we generate a URL with a random token. That URL displays your clean-day count and nothing else — no money figures, no urge logs, no notes. Anyone with the URL can see the day count. Revoke it any time from inside the app. Old tokens stop resolving immediately.
The Wall of Quitters
Public. Opt-in. Shown only if you choose to be listed during the uninstall celebration. Includes your first name, days clean, and money saved. Remove yourself any time by emailing us — see below.
Your rights
- Delete everything. Settings → Delete account. One tap. Cancels the subscription, wipes your on-device data, removes you from the Wall of Quitters if you were listed, and severs the anonymous analytics ID. Nothing recoverable.
- Export your data. Settings → Export. A JSON file of your check-ins, urge logs and reflections, on your device.
- Cancel your subscription. Settings → Cancel subscription. One tap, in-app. No retention screen, no "are you sure" loop. (You can also cancel via Apple's Manage Subscriptions page.)
- Object, restrict, or correct any personal data we hold under GDPR (EU / UK), CCPA (California), or your local equivalent. Email us — see below.
Children
Gamblr is 17+. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 17. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, we will say so in the app before you next open it. Older versions are available on request.
